Grade 4 Hoop Time (Wow what a day!!)

On Tuesday 21st July, 16 Grade Four students made their way to Nunawading Basketball Stadium to participate in Hoop Time whilst the remainder of the grade 4 students remained at school to participate in a basketball round-robin tournament throughout the day (thanks to John Hazlett for all his organising). All students improved their skills and most importantly had fun.

The girls started the day off the day at Nunawading with a 20-0 win where all eight players scored a goal… talk about teamwork! As there were only two teams in the “All Stars Girls”, they went straight through to the Grand Final which unfortunately they lost by just one point. As the loss was less than four points, the girls have successfully made it through to the next round of Hoop Time. Congratulations!

The boys had some tough competition throughout the day, but their tight defence helped them to secure two wins leading in to the finals. Unfortunately, they lost the grand final by just five points. The boy’s efforts were sensational and they fought until the final siren. Thank you to Michael Collings for coaching the team and sharing your expertise with the boys.
